unconditional

Separate we arrive, separate we leave,
but together we join while we're here
What is life's purpose, if not to love?
All other goals are of fear.

Fear that we'll 'fail', fear that we'll 'hurt'
Fear that we'll lose who 'we are'.
I've lived all these fears, and truth be told
Being 'separate' is worse, and by far.

The task at and, then, if that's what it is,
Is to find ourselves love that is TRUE.
Love that persists, that doesn't give up,
Love that rejoices, that always feels new.

A love that is known, and accepted as such
That allows each person to grow
To change as it's needed, to forge a new path
Love wise enough to still know

Wherever it leads, whatever may come
Whatever we came here to learn,
True love bridges all, for life on Earth is but small
And souls will continue to yearn.

For the depth and the resonance that true love creates
For the beauty companionship holds.
For the love so complete that it really withstands
The restraints of society's molds.

Sometimes there's wisdom within simplicity,
And one hears its echos resound
For only in letting true love GO
Can such a true love be found
